Lucknow: A member of the state women's commission, Priyanka Maurya, recently received a prank call from unknown individuals who requested her personal information. Following this incident, she filed a complaint against the unidentified culprits at the Krishnanagar police station. The complaint stated that the callers masqueraded as the personal assistants to the principal secretary of the chief minister and the District Magistrate of Unnao, and requested personal details from Priyanka. She alleged that members of the opposition were attempting to damage her reputation through deceptive tactics. An investigation has been initiated based on her complaint.
According to the details provided in the complaint, Priyanka received the first call on September 9 while she was at her residence in LDA Colony on Kanpur Road. The caller claimed to be the PA to the DM of Unnao and requested her personal information. A similar call was received on September 30, this time from an individual identifying as the PA of the chief minister's principal secretary, who again asked for her personal details. The caller mentioned a forthcoming significant responsibility that required her personal information, prompting Priyanka to take action and report the matter to the Krishnanagar police station.
Expressing concern over the situation, Priyanka stated, "Realizing the gravity of the situation, I registered a complaint at the Krishnanagar police station." DCP South Zone, Keshav Kumar, confirmed that an FIR had been filed, and an investigation was underway.
